Preface to the  Parashah – The Teaching Portion:
Parashah is Hebrew meaning portion.  In other words, the portion of the Torah, the Law of Moses, the Law to be studied.

Parashah is Hebrew meaning portion. In other words, the portion of the Torah, the Law of Moses, the Law which is to be studied.

Consider this, Moses, at G-d's order and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote the first five books of G-d's written word, the book we know as the Bible!

It is vital to us today to know and study the Torah, the Prophets (Nevi'im), the Writings (Ketuvim) {such as Psalms and Proverbs},
along with the B'rit Hadasha or the New Testament.

WHY?

1. History, guidance for worship, examples of faith and the prophecies concerning the Messiah;

2. Yeshua (Jesus) and the Apostles did not have the "New Testament" from which they taught,; they taught from G-d's written word which consisted of the above, the Torah, the Prophets (Nevi'im), the Writings (Ketuvim);

3. The writers of the "New Testament" in their quoting Yeshua (Jesus), their teachings, exhortations and corrections
consistently referred to the "Old
Testament" as the Authority.

As we study, we find the history is not merely compartmentalized stories to teach children. We will find the plan G-d has had since the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden. the plan, G-d's plan for Salvation, in order to bring mankind back into a relationship with Him and to prepare mankind, believers for the return of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ the Messiah bring G-d's Kingdom back to earth as it is in Heaven!

The "old Testament" and the "New Testament" go hand in hand, flowing smoothly. Both have to be studied and applied to our life, that we may grow in spiritual maturity and grow to walk in holiness as commanded and expected by our Heavenly Father.

A very important part of studying, is being in G-d's word. For through spiritual maturity we will be prepared for the return of our Messiah as he brings G-d's Kingdom. We will be prepared spiritually and hence be able to prepare for our roles in the last days of the end times, spiritually, mentally and physically (in the natural world).
